Harriett Irene Burmaster Obituary (1936 - 2023)

Harriett Irene Burmaster, 86, of Danvers, went home to be with the Lord at 2:10pm on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington. Harriett was born on April 5, 1936, in Mackinaw to Harry and Ruth (Graber) Gordon. Harriett married Loren D. Burmaster on December 11, 1955, in Minier. They made their home in Danvers and raised 4 children. Laureen Neuhaus of Stanford, Larry (Cindy) Burmaster of Minier, Karen Dennis and Rita Tackett both of Florida. She has 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren with 1 more on the way. She is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Lilienthal of Bloomington, and Diane Evans of Leroy. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Alvin (Kathy) Burmaster of Arkansas, and sister-in-law, Bonnie (Tom) Brucker, of Danvers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Loren, two grandchildren, Dustin and Heather Nelson, three brothers, John, Richard and Harold Gordon, and one sister, Donna Struck. Harriett used to love attending tractor pulls and she also enjoyed camping. Harriett loved a good mystery book. She had quite the library. Anyone who knew Harriett knew that she loved chickens and she had quite the collection. She loved spending time with her family and she always told her family that watching her great-grandkids growing up is what kept her going. She will be deeply missed. It's never good-bye, rather it's we will l see you again. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
