Ruth Ann Ruud Obituary (1933 - 2022)

Ruth Ann Ruud, 88, of Bloomington IL passed away peacefully Thursday May 26, 2022, at Heritage Health Nursing Home in El Paso. There will be Celebration of Life will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday June 3, 2022, at Hope Church, 1304 E. Empire, Bloomington, IL. Rev. Dr. Jennie Edwards Bertrand will officiate. A private Cremation Burial will be at a later date. Beck Memorial Funeral Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements. Ruth was born June 25, 1933, the daughter of Todd and Myra (Geffs) Gibler in Robinson, IL. She married James Helregel on June 26, 1954, and had three children. Later in life, she married William R. Ruud. Ruth is survived by her daughters, Terri Helregel (Steve Grady) of Bloomington IL; Sue Resler (Travis) of Loogootee IN; her grandsons Trevor Resler and Tyler Resler (Zoey); brother Jim Gibler (Kaye) of Oblong IL; step-grandchildren Chelsea (Keith) Innocenti (Alice, and Edward); Sean Grady; Alex Grady; her best friend Shirley Baxter, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by son, Doug Helregel; husband William Ruud and her parents. Ruth graduated from Oblong High School in 1951. She was a loving mother who enjoyed baking; tending her flower gardens; craft projects and spending time with her grandsons. Ruth's family would like to thank the loving kindness of the staff at Heritage Health Nursing Home in El Paso. The time Ruth spent at Heritage, she was loved and cared for beyond her family's expectations as well as an extra special thank you to the Carle Hospice team who provided additional care and support.
