Susan "Susie" Grace Owen-Bell Obituary (1955 - 2019)

Susan "Susie" Grace Owen-Bell, 64, of Normal, IL, formerly of Stanford, IL, passed away Monday, December 30, 2019, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, IL. Susie was born on December 19, 1955 in Jefferson County, Kentucky. She was raised by her grandparents, Clyde and Grace Owen in Stanford, IL. She married Michael H. Bell on December 20, 1986. He preceded her in death. Susie is survived by John (Auntie Nydra) Owen, Stanford, who was not just her uncle but more like her brother and Annie (Jerry) Carlock, Danvers, who was her cousin, sister, and best friend. Also surviving are her half siblings, Lisa (Billy) Burger, Stanford; Jimmy Bridgewater, Stanford; Jenny Bridgewater, Minier; Jody Bridgewater Lane, Antigo, WI. Susie had 3 nephews, 5 nieces, and numerous cousins who she loved dearly. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Clyde and Grace Owen; her cousin Petie who was like a brother to her; her parents Jim (Ducky) and Sandy Bridgewater; and her beloved fur babies Jake, Sami, and Burt. A graveside service will be Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Brooks Grove Cemetery at 11:00 am. The family would like to thank the staff at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center for the care given to Susie. Susie requested no flowers. Because Susie was an avid supporter of animal rescue and adoption, donations to the Humane Society of McLean County or TAPS in Pekin, IL are requested in lieu of flowers.
